Relationship & Couples Counselling

Positive, healthy and fulfilling relationships form the basis for a happy life. But what can we do when our relationship is in trouble?

Positive, healthy and fulfilling relationships form the basis for a happy life. Most of us consider our intimate relationships with our partners, children, families, and colleagues to be important and integral to our sense of fulfilment and satisfaction in life.

While our relationships can provide the deepest source of satisfaction and happiness, they can also result in anger, frustration, hurt and disappointment. Relationships can be the source of pain as well as joy.

How can we maintain good relationships?

Problems can occur at any stage in a relationship and may result from poor communication, difficulties with sexual intimacy, financial pressures or conflict over household tasks and responsibilities, or through major life transitions including career changes, becoming a parent, conflict within extended family, or the loss of a loved one.

What can we do when our relationship is in trouble?

Sometimes it is difficult to see how longstanding problems and entrenched patterns of behaviour can be altered and it is at these times the support of an impartial, non-judgemental counsellor can be helpful.

Relationship or couples counselling can assist you to gain insight into your present difficulties and provide you with the tools to regain and maintain a positive, healthy and fulfilling relationship.

Individual relationship counselling can be of benefit if you wish to privately discuss issues that are affecting your relationship. Couples counselling enables both partners to understand why and how difficulties are arising and to develop skills that will assist them to foster a healthy and satisfying relationship.
